3 Amazing Scenes From 'When The Camellia Blooms' That Viewers Raved About

“When the Camellia Blooms” is continuing its spiral upwards with each new episode!

The drama broke its personal viewership ratings record recently and reclaimed its spot at the top of the buzzworthy dramas list after being unseated by MBC’s “Extraordinary You” for the last two weeks.

Spoilers

Here are three of viewers’ favorite scenes that earned explosive reactions:

1. Dong Baek and Yong Shik’s first kiss

Dong Baek (Gong Hyo Jin) always ran away whenever she faced hardships in life. However, after the Joker showed up at her doorstep once again, she vowed to not run away anymore. Her boldness stemmed from Yong Shik’s (Kang Ha Neul) unconditional love for her. She appreciated him so much that she suddenly planted a kiss on his cheek. Yong Shik was thrilled by her first move and said, “You started it.” With that, they shared their first kiss, which earned an enthusiastic response from viewers.

2. Yong Shik to the rescue

During a baseball match, Pil Gu (Kim Kang Hoon) faced injustice because of the opposing team’s coach. It wasn’t easy for Pil Gu to face the situation alone, and just when he was feeling hopeless and isolated, Yong Shik emerged to save him. He declared Pil Gu as his son and blackmailed the coach with a drone that recorded the whole unfair scene. When the coach demanded he call the police, Yong Shik shouted, “I’m right here! I’m the police!” Then he warned, “Don’t mess with my Pil Gu, or I’ll kill you all.” It was the highlight of the episode that made the viewers declare Yong Shik a hero.

3. Hyang Mi’s tears

The viewers shed tears for Hyang Mi (Son Dam Bi) when her heartbreaking past was revealed. Hyang Mi had always lived a solitary life without a true friend by her side. The only wish she ever wanted was for her younger sibling to live well. She was so devoted to her younger sibling that she stole 30 million won (approximately $25,900) from Dong Baek that earned her nothing but betrayal. In one scene, Hyang Mi said to Dong Baek, “Don’t forget me. My mom and younger sibling are all living well without me, but I want you to at least remember me. That way, it will be like I once existed in this world.” The reason why this scene was so sad was because Hyang Mi could never come back to Dong Baek because she wouldn’t be able to return the 30 million won.

“When the Camellia Blooms” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. KST.
