'Busted!' Cast Talks About Lee Seung Gi Joining The Team

On November 8, Netflix’s “Busted!” held a press conference at Apgujeong CGV in Seoul for their second season. Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Min, Lee Seung Gi, Park Min Young, EXO‘s Sehun, gugudan‘s Kim Sejeong, and the producers were all present.

During the press conference, the members commented on Lee Seung Gi becoming their new member. Yoo Jae Suk praised him and said, “Lee Seung Gi is great at variety shows and has talent.” He continued, “Lee Kwang Soo couldn’t join us for the new season, so there were big shoes to fill, but Lee Seung Gi did an excellent job.”

Kim Jong Min added, “We worked together in ‘2 Days & 1 Night,’ so it was nice to work with him again.”

Park Min Young said she was happy to work with Lee Seung Gi and emphasized, “It was nice to finally have someone around my age around.”

When asked about his chemistry with the other detectives, Lee Seung Gi responded, “It was great. I was excited to hear about the opportunity to work with a great group of people. It was the first time I’ve done something with Yoo Jae Suk as a fixed cast. It was nice. It was comfortable to be around Kim Jong Min. As for Park Min Young, I felt like I made a friend through this show.” He went on to add that he became close to Sehun and Kim Sejeong as well.

Lee Seung Gi shared, “I was originally worried I wouldn’t be able to get immersed in the situation because I worked with some of them before. But the production team made the situations real, and solving the cases was harder than I thought. It wasn’t easy. So I was able to naturally become a part of it and that’s how the chemistry was created. I think it’s Netflix’s most innovative variety show. It was really fun.”

“Busted!” is a variety show where a team of detectives solve mysteries. Last year in May, the first season of “Busted!” featured 7 detectives and 10 cases. For the new season in 2019, Yoo Jae Suk reappears and gathers the old members of the team as well as a new member. With 10 new unsolved cases and one serial killer, the game begins.

Producer Jo Hyo Jin said, “The season is connected through the serial killer. One difference this season is that there are fixed guests. They give clues and have secrets, so if you follow them, there will be an unexpected twist.”
