Lee Sang Min Clarifies Reports That He Is Finally Debt Free
On the November 11 broadcast of SBS Power FM’s “Kim Young Chul’s Power FM,” Lee Sang Min revealed, “There’s no longer a bank that I’m restricted from using now. I can make a bank account.” He added, “I didn’t make a new one, but I’m using the bank that I used in the past.”
After filing for a bankruptcy in 2005, Lee Sang Min has been diligently paying off his debt, which was revealed to have amounted to 6.98 billion won (approximately $6 million).
Lee Sang Min shared, “I have a positive equity this year. It still feels like a dream.” He continued, “My goal has stayed the same for a few years. I just want things to stay the way they are now. Living is always hard. I want to stay the way I am now without becoming arrogant, hasty, greedy, or wanting more.”
Following reports of him being free of debt, Lee Sang Min posted a screen shot of a chat with Kim Young Chul and clarified that he is not actually done repaying his debt.
In the conversation, Kim Young Chul shares a link to an article stating that he’s done repaying his debt and asks “Hyung you’re not done repaying right?” Lee Sang Min responded, “Aah! I haven’t.”
