Update: AB6IX's Park Woo Jin Receives Surgery For Injury + To Take Break From Activities

Brand New Music has shared an update on Park Woo Jin’s injury.

The statement released on November 19 reads as follows:

Hello. This is Brand New Music.

This is a notice regarding our artist AB6IX’s member Park Woo Jin.

Park Woo Jin received first aid care for the injury that he incurred while carrying out the scheduled event on November 16 and was taken the hospital right away to receive treatment and an examination. Specifically, he was diagnosed with a meniscus tear in his knee.

Following the doctor’s recommendation, Park Woo Jin received a detailed examination and surgery. He is currently resting and working on recovery after completing the surgery, and he will focus on maintaining his health and recovering while resting for the time being.

As a result, the agency will put our full effort into treatment and rehabilitation for Park Woo Jin’s full recovery, and AB6IX’s upcoming scheduled activities including the “BRANDNEW YEAR 2019” concert will be carried out without Park Woo Jin and with the four members Lim Young Min, Jeon Woong, Kim Dong Hyun, and Lee Dae Hwi for the time being.

AB6IX’s agency Brand New Music has issued a statement in response to Park Woo Jin’s absence during the group’s performance at the 2019 V Live Awards V HEARTBEAT.

V Live’s official awards ceremony V HEARTBEAT was held at Gocheok Sky Dome on November 16. Park Woo Jin opened the awards show with a solo performance, and AB6IX later appeared on stage to perform their track “BLIND FOR LOVE.”

However, fans quickly noticed that Park Woo Jin was not on stage for the group performance and voiced their concern on social media.

In response to this, Brand New Music stated to Newsen, “After [Park Woo Jin] received first aid care, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. He’s had an ankle injury before, so he’s been recovering, but he it seems like he suddenly felt pain while performing on stage. We will need to hear the doctor’s opinion for the full details.”

Brand New Music previously announced on July 1 that Park Woo Jin had been focusing on treatment after he was diagnosed with a syndesmotic sprain on his right ankle.
