Go Jun Hee Wraps Up Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters + Agency Issues Statement
Representatives from Go Jun Hee’s agency have stated that they are wrapping up the legal action against malicious commenters.
Back in May, the actress filed a formal complaint against 12 malicious commenters for defamation and violation of the Information and Communications Network Act. On December 2, Go Jun Hee’s agency, Mountain Movement, released a statement on the matter. They said, “Go Jun Hee suffered greatly due to the rumors started by malicious commenters and provocative headlines.”
Of the charges pressed, the agency stated, “We’ve wrapped up about 32 cases with the help of lawyers. The perpetrators who are minors or members of a vulnerable social class will be receiving suspended sentences and required to report for probation. The remaining perpetrators will be required to pay a fine.”
The agency wrapped up their statement by saying, “We have done everything in our power to ensure these thoughtless criticisms of the actress were punished by legal means. In the future, we will continue to monitor for malicious commenters, and will not hesitate to pursue strong legal action should the incidents continue. By doing so, we can ensure that the actress can once again return to greeting the public through her work.”
The malicious comments started in May when Go Jun He was swept up in rumors that she was the actress named in Seungri’s group chat when the chatroom participants discussed inviting girls to entertain a foreign investor visiting Korea at the time.
