Lee Dong Wook Shares His Thoughts On "Produce X 101" Manipulation Controversy

On December 2, Lee Dong Wook took part in a press conference for his upcoming SBS talk show “Because I Want to Talk” and answered some questions.

Earlier this year, Lee Dong Wook hosted Mnet’s “Produce X 101,” which was embroiled in a vote manipulation controversy following its conclusion. Last month, 10 individuals involved with “Produce X 101,” including producing directors like Ahn Joon Young and Starship Entertainment’s vice president “Kim,” were booked for suspicions of manipulating the show’s results.

When asked to share his thoughts about the controversy, Lee Dong Wook responded, “I’ll answer [the question]. It’s not something I should be talking about here, but I’ll answer since you asked. Though there are several controversies and the situation isn’t favorable, I can’t stop carrying out my own work. But that doesn’t mean I’m separating myself from the show. I still contact the kids. I personally got in contact with them and shared my opinion with them as well. I won’t talk about it in detail, but I think it’s unfortunate that things turned out this way.”

Lee Dong Wook’s “Because I Want to Talk” premieres on December 4 at 10 p.m. KST. His “Goblin” co-star Gong Yoo will be the first guest on the show. Watch a teaser with English subtitles below!
