"The Return Of Superman" To Change Time Slot + Do Kyung Wan And Jang Yoon Jung Joining Cast
KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman” will be airing at a different time!
“The Return of Superman” first began airing in November 2013 with the Sunday night time slot of 5 p.m. KST. At the time, the program received much love and even gained over 20 percent in viewership ratings. In March, in order to fill the empty time slot left by “2 Days & 1 Night,” the variety show changed its air time to 6 p.m. KST. Despite this, “The Return of Superman” managed to retain solid viewership ratings and was the most-watched show among programs in the same time slot for 74 weeks.
Starting December 8, “The Return of Superman” will be airing at 9:15 p.m. KST. Since popular programs including SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling” air during the same time slot, it will become an even fiercer battlefield for viewership ratings.
In addition to the new time slot, another change will also be coming to the show. Starting with the upcoming episode, Do Kyung Wan and Jang Yoon Jung’s family will be joining the show. In 2014, the couple shared the meaningful moment of the birth of their first son Yeon Woo with the viewers of “The Return of Superman,” and they will be returning to the show with their daughter Ha Young who was born last year in November. Viewers are highly anticipating the family’s return as it will be Ha Young’s first time on TV.
The production team of the variety program shared, “‘The Return of Superman’ will be changing its broadcast time to Sunday at 9:15 p.m. KST, the greatest battlefield for variety shows. Although [we] are aware it’s a difficult time slot, we will continue to do our best in order for [the show] to provide a healing experience for the viewers as it has done until now. We ask viewers to continue to show interest and love.”
