"2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships" Announces 7 Sporting Events + Special MC Lineup

More information has been announced for the Lunar New Year special of the “2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships”!

The seven main events for the upcoming broadcast are track-and-field, archery, ssireum (Korean wrestling), pitching, penalty shootout, eSports, and horseback riding. These are the same events that took place at the “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special.”

In addition to the main MCs Jun Hyun Moo, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, and TWICE’s Dahyun, there will be floor MCs to interview idols and provide more direct coverage. MOMOLAND’s JooE will be returning as a floor MC, while AB6IX’s Lee Dae Hwi will take on the position for the first time.

WJSN’s Soobin will be a commentator for the penalty shootout, while Oh My Girl’s Seunghee will be commentator for horseback riding. DinDin, Super Junior’s Shindong, and Hong Jin Young have been confirmed as commentators for eSports.

The main recording for the “2020 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Lunar New Year Special” will take place on December 16, with a few events being recorded separately. It is set to air on January 25 and 26 over the Lunar New Year holiday.
