29th Seoul Music Awards Announces Nominees + Voting Begins

The Seoul Music Awards (hereafter SMA) is gearing up for its 29th ceremony!

On December 9, the nominees were announced for the Main Award, Rookie Award, Ballad Award, R&B/Hip Hop Award, OST Award, Dance Performance Award, Popularity Award, and K-Wave Award of the 29th SMA.

Voting is now open on the official mobile application and will run through January 22, 2020. Each user is allowed five votes per category per day.

The criteria for the final winners are as follows:

• Main, Rookie, Ballad, R&B/Hip Hop, OST, and Dance Performance Awards – 40% judge panel and SMA organizing committee, 30% album and song sales (according to Gaon Chart), 30% mobile votes
• Popularity Award – 100% Korean votes
• K-Wave Popularity Award – 100% votes from outside of Korea
• Band, Performance Culture, Discovery of the Year, and Judge’s Special Awards – 100% judge panel and SMA organizing committee

The 29th SMA will be held on January 30th, 2020 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul and will be broadcast live via KBS Drama, KBS Joy, and KBS W.
