Lee Dong Wook In Talks To Play First Ever Male Gumiho In New Drama
Actor Lee Dong Wook could possibly transform into a gumiho in his next drama!
On December 10, a representative from the actor’s agency stated, “Lee Dong Wook is currently in talks to participate in tvN’s new drama, titled ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed.'” Lee Dong Wook will play the role of the titular gumiho (a mythological nine-tailed fox) if the talks are successful.
Although there are many dramas which feature gumiho, “Tale of the Nine Tailed” would be the first drama to feature a male gumiho in the lead role. The story would follow the gumiho, who once ruled as a living god of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range but now works as a sort of public official between this world and the underworld. His main job is to clean up the mess left behind by those who disturb the world of the living while hiding behind the guise of ghost tales.
Further details behind the drama have not yet been decided. If Lee Dong Wook ends up taking the role, it will be his first drama appearance since OCN’s “Strangers,” which aired back in October. Lee Dong Wook is currently promoting his new talk show, “Because I Want To Talk.”
