4 Reasons "Cinderella And Four Knights" Is The Ultimate Guilty Pleasure
Along with the monumental success of the Cannes Palme d’Or awardee “Parasite” this year, there has also been growing attention for the excellent cast members including Park So Dam, who plays the cynical Kim Ki Jung in the film.
Park So Dam has steadily built up her career since her debut in 2013. Although she mostly starred in films, the actress also impressed with her performance in dramas such as the 2016 drama “Cinderella and Four Knights.”
Aside from the leading lady herself, the drama has plenty of different charms that make it a favorite for many rom-com lovers.
Park So Dam stars as Eun Ha Won, whose mother dies in an accident. She is hired by a rich family to be a live-in housekeeper for three cousins Kang Hyun Min (Ahn Jae Hyun), Kang Ji Woon (Jung Il Woo), and Kang Seo Woo (Lee Jung Shin).
Whether the drama is already your guilty pleasure or if you have been hesitant about starting it, here are a few reasons to marathon “Cinderella and Four Knights” this holiday season:
Obvious K-drama cliches
Hatred turning into love, pushing against the wall, dramatic kiss scenes, complicated family relations, and the list goes on…this drama has it all! Although some might see these as a turn off, the bit of cringe makes it an entertaining watch with never a dull moment. “Cinderella and Four Knights” embraces these cliches but also adds more impact with heart-stopping scenes that swoop viewers off their feet.
Complex love lines
All three cousins along with Lee Yoon Sung (Choi Min), the family’s bodyguard, develop feelings for Eun Ha Won. Hyun Min and Ji Woon especially get heated in their battle for Ha Won’s love. To make matters even more interesting, Park Hye Ji (Son Naeun) has liked Hyun Min since they were young, while Ji Woon liked Hye Ji. The curiosity of how the final love lines will turn out definitely keeps viewers going until the very end.
Distinct charms of the four knights
The four men in question have varying characteristics that appeal in different ways. Ji Woon is a bit cold and rough to Ha Won at first, but he opens up to her slowly and begins to fall for her sweetness. Hyun Min is the epitome of a playboy in the drama, dating one girl one week and another girl the next. However, he begins to feel attracted towards Ha Won despite their fake engagement, which also makes Hye Ji uneasy. Seo Woo is a lost musician seeing his ultimate muse, and Ha Won fills that role as he begins to write songs about her and dreams about pursuing romance with her. Lastly, Yoon Sung is a stern and charismatic bodyguard, but while being in charge of taking care of Ha Won, she starts making his heart flutter.
Bromantic chemistry
Not only does the “Cinderella and the Four Knights” offer great romance, but it also increases the fun with all the moments between the male leads. In the drama, Chairman Kang gives Ha Won a mission to bring Hyun Min, Ji Woon, and Seo Woo to live together like actual brothers although they really do not like each other at all. Despite the constant bickering and conflict over love, hints of bromance do come alive here and there, and the male actors boast amazing chemistry with each other through it all!
