Youngest Member Of Girl Group Enthralls With Her Beautiful Voice On "The King Of Mask Singer"

The December 15 episode of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer” revealed the identity of Thumbelina!

Round 1 of the episode had Sweet 18 and Thumbelina going up against each other. They sang Yoo Jae Ha’s “Obscured Road” together and reinterpreted it to match their individual styles.

When it came time to vote, Sweet 18 moved on to the next round with a score of 63 to 36. Before taking off her mask, Thumbelina began singing Soyou’s “I Miss You” and awed the audience with her clear voice. She then revealed herself to be Lovelyz’s youngest member Yein.

Yein said, “I had a feeling that Yoon Sang wouldn’t be able to guess my identity. My voice is actually quite husky so when we meet at the recording studio, he always asks me, ‘Yein, do you have a cold?’ So I knew he wouldn’t be able to guess me,” making Yoon Sang laugh at her statement. He also added, “Yein isn’t the main vocalist of her group. But seeing her sing ‘I Miss You’ by herself moved me so much that my hands are shaking. I’m moved by how stable she was in her singing.”

Yein continued to say, “I gained courage from seeing Mijoo performing here. She’s not our main vocalist, so seeing her made me think, ‘Maybe I should try it too?’ I’m grateful to myself for being able to sing an entire song by myself.” She concluded by stating, “I hope to continue greeting everyone as Lovelyz and through various ways, and I will do my best to be a singer who provides comfort to people, so please keep watching over me.”
