Kim Gun Mo And His Mother Step Down From 'My Ugly Duckling' + Alleged Sexual Assault Victim Undergoes Police Questioning

Kim Gun Mo and his mother will no longer appear on SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling.”

On December 15, SBS announced that Kim Gun Mo and his mother, Lee Sun Mi, will no longer appear on the show.

SBS explained, “Because Kim Gun Mo did not appear on ‘My Ugly Duckling’ every week, we won’t use the expression that he ‘left the show.’ Kim Gun Mo’s mother Lee Sun Mi also didn’t appear for eight months due to health issues. She only appeared as a special MC since last month.”

This comes after lawyer Kang Yong Suk reported on Kim Gun Mo’s alleged sexual assault through his YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute. A woman (hereafter referred to as “A”) claimed she was raped by the singer in 2016 while working at an entertainment bar in Gangnam. Another woman then stepped forward to accuse Kim Gun Mo of physically assaulting her in 2007 during her time working as the manager of an adult entertainment establishment.

On December 9, Kang Yong Suk filed a formal complaint as the legal representative of “A.” In response, Kim Gun Mo released a statement denying all allegations and announcing his plans to file a criminal complaint against the accuser.

On December 15, a source from the Seoul Gangnam Police Station revealed that “A” underwent police questioning for eight hours on December 14 at 2 p.m.

It was also reported that “A” requested personal protection from the police. In response to this, the police stated, “The victim is worried about secondary damage, so we cannot confirm the reports about personal protection.”
