Kang Daniel's Agency Shares Update On Status Of Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters

KONNECT Entertainment has shared an update regarding their ongoing legal action on behalf of Kang Daniel.

The agency released a new statement on December 16 that reads as follows:

Hello, this is KONNECT Entertainment.

Our agency has previously spoken of taking strong legal action with no settlements or favorable arrangements for malicious posts that spread false information, sexual harassment, defamation, privacy violations, and more regarding our artist.

We would like to provide an update as of December 16 on the status of our legal action against such malicious posts.

In early September, we submitted a complaint to the Gangnam Police Station based on charges of defamation in violation of Article 311 of the Criminal Act, which can result in a sentence of up to a year in prison or 2 million won (approximately $1,700) in fines, based on the data we have collected and the data you have sent in (protect@konnectent.com). On December 16, we have filed complaints for additional cases we have found. Like the first round of complaints, the cases will be moved to the relevant districts, and we will pursue strong leal action with no settlements.

The first complaints we have filed are currently in the final stages of investigation. We ask for your understanding as we cannot share details of the cases until the investigations are complete, and we will return soon with news once the cases are closed.

Lastly, we wish to express our deep gratitude to fans who have been sending in data, regardless of the time of day. We have received hundreds of thousands of pieces of potential evidence through approximately 4,000 e-mails we have received in the past three months since the first complaints were filed, and we will continue to regularly take action against malicious commenters who wish to defame our artist and his fans. We will not stop in our legal action to ensure that we can repay fans for your hard work.

Once again, we thank you for your unchanging love and support for Kang Daniel, and we will work hard to protect the rights of our artist and his fans.
