Koreans Vote For Top Artists, Songs, And Idols Of 2019
Gallup Korea has revealed its results for the most-loved artists, songs, and idols of 2019!
The research company Gallup Korea conducted surveys in July, September, and November among 4,203 people in Korea aged 13 to 59 to find out their favorite singers and songs from this year.
The margin of error is ±1.5 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
Respondents were first asked to list up to three of their favorite artists or groups from 2019.
The top 10 responses are as follows:
1. BTS (26.3 percent)
2. Song Ga In (18.5 percent)
3. Jang Yoon Jung (11.6 percent)
4. IU (11.6 percent)
5. Hong Jin Young (9.0 percent)
6. TWICE (8.4 percent)
7. Paul Kim (5.4 percent)
8. Red Velvet (4.6 percent)
9. Kim Yeon Ja (4.2 percent)
10. Lim Chang Jung (4.1 percent)
BTS maintained their No. 1 spot for the second consecutive year, and “Miss Trot” winner Song Ga In entered the list at second place. Trot singer Jang Yoon Jung also reentered the list this year at No. 3.
IU and Hong Jin Young were able to maintain their spots in the top five.
For the second question, respondents were asked to list up to three of their favorite songs in 2019 (although not necessarily released this year).
The top five are as follows:
1. BTS – “Boy With Luv” (5.9 percent)
2. Kim Yeon Ja – “Amor Fati” (4.1 percent)
3. Hong Jin Young – “Love Tonight” (3.6 percent)
4. Paul Kim – “So Long” (3.1 percent)
5. Song Ga In – “Unknown Actor” (2.8 percent)
6. BTS – “Spring Day” / Song Ga In – “Bitter Daedong River” / Jang Yoon Jung – “Call the Soul” (2.7 percent)
9. Jang Yoon Jung – “Love, Truly” (2.6 percent)
10. BTS – “IDOL” (2.5 percent)
BTS’s hit track “Boy With Luv” took first place, and Kim Yeon Ja’s “Amor Fati” rose to second place this year after being ranked No. 8 in 2018. BTS’s “Spring Day,” Song Ga In’s “Bitter Daedong River,” and Jang Yoon Jung’s “Call the Soul” shared the sixth place spot.
The 1,502 survey participants between the ages of 13 and 29 were asked to list up to three of their favorite idols as well. For this question, the margin of error is ±2.4 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
