Police Explain Measures Being Taken To Protect TWICE From Stalking Threats
TWICE is currently being protected by the police.
Previously, JYP Entertainment provided an update on the action they are taking against stalking threats and malicious posts about TWICE.
On December 23, Commissioner Lee Yong Pyo of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated during a press conference that the police have strengthened patrols around TWICE’s dormitory and agency and registered the members as eligible for 112 emergency personal protection. 112 is the emergency telephone number for the police in Korea.
Whenever there is a concern for physical harm, the police open a committee to review the need for personal security and provide eight measures of protection that include smart watches and shelter.
A source from the police shared, “In TWICE’s case, they weren’t given smart watches because they didn’t want them, and they are being provided with two things (reinforcement of patrols and 112 emergency personal protection).”
