IU Makes End-Of-Year Donation To Children In Need
IU has made a meaningful end-of-year donation!
According to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation on December 23, IU recently donated 100 million won (about $86,000) to children who are being raised by their grandparents.
IU has donated to many causes over the years. Since 2015, she has donated to children in economically underprivileged situations through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. Last year, she donated 20 million won (about $17,000) in tuition and residence fees to university students with financial difficulties. In April of this year, she donated 100 million won to children who were victims of the Gangwon Province wildfires. IU’s fanclub, UAENA, has also done volunteer work to help people with disabilities and donated 20 million won to help with winter heating costs.
In recognition of her charity work, IU was named by Forbes as one of Asia’s Heroes for Philanthropy earlier this month.
IU is currently in the middle of her concert tour, with stops in Bangkok on December 24 and Jakarta on December 28.
