MOMOLAND's JooE Shares How Nancy Helped Her During Her Burnout
On December 25, MOMOLAND’s JooE, Kim Young Ho, Sam Okyere, and Sleepy appeared as guests on MBC’s “Radio Star.”
During the show, MOMOLAND’s JooE was asked about the side effects of her sudden rise to popularity. She said, “I like that a lot of people are showing me interest, but there was a time when I had a case of burnout. I had to juggle my own personal schedule and the group’s schedule as well, so I was having a hard time. One night, I returned from work to the dorm and it was dark. I suddenly felt tears welling up at the sight of that dark dorm. I sat in the living room and cried silently while the other members were sleeping. But suddenly my roommate, Nancy, came out and hugged me without a word. My burnout cleared up after that.”
JooE also talked about how her mom loves consulting fortunetellers. “When they chose my name, Lee Joo Won, they also consulted a fortuneteller. The fortuneteller said that if I worked incredibly hard between the ages of 18 to 20, then my twenties will be successful. I debuted around the age of 18 and came on ‘Radio Star’ when I was 20, so they were right.”
She added, “I recently checked with a fortuneteller about my luck in love. They said my luck with men is really good. They said that it’s so good that I can get married twice,” making Kim Gura and Jang Dong Yoon react in surprise and Ahn Young Mi joke, “I’m jealous.”
