Koreans Stream Songs With Lucky Titles To Start Off 2020 + Tracks By WJSN, Red Velvet, 2NE1, BTS, And More Re-Enter Charts
With everyone hoping for a great 2020, many people in Korea streamed tracks with lucky and hopeful titles after midnight KST on January 1 to try to make their dreams come true!
This was reflected on the 1 a.m. KST realtime chart of Korea’s biggest music site Melon, when WJSN’s track “As You Wish” re-entered the chart and grabbed the group’s highest ranking ever as it came in at No. 4. It’s reported that WJSN’s Dayoung wrote on their fan cafe, “I can’t stop crying. I truly received a New Year’s gift. My wish is coming true in 2020.”
Kim Feel’s “Jackpot” made a return to the chart at No. 7, while Red Velvet’s debut track “Happiness” re-entered at No. 8.
Norazo member Jo Bin’s “Music that Makes You Succeed Just by Listening” took No. 12, and 2NE1’s “I Am the Best” returned at No. 50.
Norazo’s “It’s Your Destiny” came in at No. 56, while BTS’s “I’m Fine” re-entered the chart at No. 57. When recently asked what a good song would be to start off the new year, BTS’ Suga suggested “I’m Fine” as a way to begin the year with hope because everything’s okay.
The children’s song “Pass Song” took the No. 69 spot after it was seemingly streamed by those hoping to pass a test this year. EXO’s “Lotto” also returned to the chart, grabbing No. 97.
What song’s energy are you hoping to bring into 2020?
