January Variety Show Brand Reputation Rankings Announced
The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for variety shows.
The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, interaction, media coverage, community awareness, and viewership indexes of 50 popular variety programs, using big data collected between December 4, 2019, and January 4, 2020.
Taking the top spot once again was MBC’s “Home Alone” (“I Live Alone”)! The show recently won Variety Program of the Year at the 2019 MBC Entertainment Awards and also earned many of its stars prizes, including the Daesang (Grand Award) for Park Na Rae. The show scored a brand reputation index this month of 8,816,676, a 6.61 percent decrease from last month‘s score.
In second place was TV Chosun’s “Mister Trot,” the second season of the popular audition program “Miss Trot.” It garnered a brand reputation index of 7,540,565, an especially impressive accomplishment considering that the show made its premiere on January 2 and has therefore never appeared on the brand reputation rankings before.
In third place was MBN’s “Voice Queen,” which scored a brand reputation index of 6,872,516, a whopping 112.22 percent increase from last month.
