"Dr. Romantic 2" Shares 3 Things To Look Forward To Ahead Of Premiere

The premiere of “Dr. Romantic 2” is just hours away!

The upcoming SBS drama is the second installment of the hit series that began in 2016. It will tell the story of “real doctor” Kim Sa Bu (played by Han Suk Kyu), who works at the small, humble Dol Dam Hospital, and the people who meet him.

Although many viewers are already excited for the second season, here are three key points to look forward to:

1. It’s a life drama, not a medical drama

There’s more to this medical drama than just doctors and patients. Unlike typical medical dramas, “Dr. Romantic 2” will tell the realistic stories of people living their lives.

The drama will focus on Kim Sa Bu, who practices medicine with his own philosophy at a local hospital, and like the first season, it will provide glimpses of not only problems specific to hospitals, but also various facets of Korean society.

Moreover, the second season will comfort viewers through in-depth looks at people and their lives, including the growth and development of younger characters like Lee Sung Kyung, Ahn Hyo Seop, and more. It will also touch viewers’ hearts through the stories of the various patients that appear in each episode.

2. A cast of highly talented actors

“Dr. Romantic 2” boasts a remarkable cast that includes Han Suk Kyu, Lee Sung Kyung, Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Min Jae, Kim Joo Heon, Shin Dong Wook, So Ju Yeon, Park Hyo Joo, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min, Choi Jin Ho, Yoon Na Moo, and more.

In addition to the many cast members who are returning for the second season, viewers are also eagerly looking forward to the drama’s new characters, such as Cha Eun Jae (Lee Sung Kyung), a hard-working surgeon, and Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop), a cynic with an impressive ability to concentrate in the operation room.

3. The reunion of the writer and director from Season 1

Writer Kang Eun Kyung and director Yoo In Shik have reunited to create another masterpiece!

During the first season of “Dr. Romantic,” Kang Eun Kyung received a great deal of praise and critical acclaim for her genre-defying script and strong social messages, which made viewers both empathize and reflect on themselves. Meanwhile, Yoon In Shik captivated countless viewers with his production ability and proficient directing, raising anticipation for the second round of the duo’s fantastic teamwork.
