CJ ENM Clarifies IZ*ONE's Status Following X1's Disbandment

After the disbandment of X1, CJ ENM has responded following reports about IZ*ONE’s future.

X1 was formed through the survival show “Produce X 101” in 2019 while IZ*ONE was formed through the previous season of the series, “Produce 48,” in 2018. Only days before IZ*ONE’s planned November comeback, the show’s producer Ahn Joon Young admitted in a police investigation that the rankings for both seasons had been manipulated, and IZ*ONE and X1 had been on a hiatus since then. Their first full album “BLOOM*IZ” has not yet been released following the November postponement.

After it was announced that X1 has disbanded on January 6, a source from CJ ENM spoke to the news outlet Sports Today. They stated, “In regards to IZ*ONE, our company and each of the agencies are all thinking positively about a resumption of their activities.”

The news outlet SpoTVNews reported later that evening that according to their investigation, the agencies have agreed that IZ*ONE will resume activities in January. This has not been confirmed.
