Block B’s Park Kyung has requested to delay his enlistment.
On January 6, Park Kyung’s agency Seven Seasons stated to OSEN, “Park Kyung received a notice telling him to enlist on January 21. However, since he is being questioned [regarding the controversy about digital sajaegi], he requested to delay his enlistment so that he can earnestly take part in the questioning. The delay of his enlistment has not yet been confirmed.”
In late November, Park Kyung restarted the conversation about suspicions of widespread sajaegi (the manipulation of sales numbers through an artist’s own agency bulk buying or streaming). He wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I want to do sajaegi like Vibe, like Song Ha Ye, like Lim Jae Hyun, like Jeon Sang Keun, like Jang Deok Cheol, and like Hwang In Wook ^^;;.”
The artists he mentioned are all taking legal action against him, such as filing complaints for the alleged violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. regarding the spreading of false facts and defamation.
His comments have also sparked a resurgence in calls for investigation into suspicious chart activity.
