Lee Yi Kyung Tells Story Of Friendship With BTS's Jin

Actor Lee Yi Kyung talked about his friendship with BTS’s Jin!

Lee Yi Kyung appeared as a guest on the January 15 episode of MBC’s “Radio Star.”

He shared, “After I was discharged from the military, I went to an acting school near my home at the age of 23. At the time, Jin was 18 or 19 and he went there to study acting while wearing his school uniform. We studied acting there together.”

“Even then he was famous for being handsome,” he said. Lee Yi Kyung shared that he and Jin went to different universities, and so they didn’t meet for a while after that.

However, in 2018, Lee Yi Kyung went to the Mnet Asian Music Awards to present an award. “I came off stage and Jin was running back behind the stage towards me,” he said. He shared that Jin had shouted “Hyung!” which is a term used by men to older brothers or male friends.

“He still remembered me,” said Lee Yi Kyung. “I was grateful for that, because I know it’s not an easy thing.” When asked if they exchanged numbers, Lee Yi Kyung said they now meet up and joked that he was a bit afraid to talk about it.

Lee Yi Kyung recently starred in “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” while Jin and BTS are currently gearing up for their February 21 comeback with “Map of the Soul: 7.”
