Child Actress Koo Sa Rang Accused Of Mistreating Cat + Mother Apologizes
Child actress Koo Sa Rang’s mother apologized for the video in which Koo Sa Rang appears to be mistreating her cat.
On January 16, a video of Koo Sa Rang opening a box of gifts was uploaded to her official YouTube channel. Koo Sa Rang performed with BTS last year on December 25 at the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejeon Music Festival, and she had received the gifts from BTS’s Jimin for her birthday on December 31.
In the video, when Koo Sa Rang’s cat tried to go inside the box and showed interest in its contents, she threw, pushed, and hit the cat. Many netizens pointed out that Koo Sa Rang was abusing her cat, and the video was deleted from YouTube and social media.
On January 19, Koo Sa Rang’s mother posted an apology on her Twitter account. She wrote, “Hello, this is Sa Rang’s guardian. First, I am extremely sorry. I wasn’t able to reply to everyone, so I am writing this post. Sa Rang is reflecting on her words and behavior. We will be more careful from now on. Sa Rang has apologized to [her cat] and promised to be careful from now on and treat [her cat] with love.” She continued, “As her parents, we should have taught her better, and we are reflecting on ourselves for not having done so. I once again apologize for causing concern to many people.”

In another apology, Koo Sa Rang’s mother said, “I am very sorry. This happened due to our incompetence. At the time of the video, Sa Rang was feeling hyper because she was happy, and so she showed inappropriate behavior unlike her usual self. I am very sorry about that. Sa Rang is crying a lot and reflecting on [her behavior].”
