Agency Of "Arthdal Chronicles" Actress Karata Erika Apologizes For Affair Scandal
Karata Erika’s Korean agency has issued an official apology regarding rumors of adultery between the Japanese actress and Higashide Masahiro.
On January 23, BH Entertainment stated, “First, we would like to say that we are truly sorry to have worried so many people with this news about Karata Erika. [She] regrets her actions and is currently reflecting [on the issue]. We bow our heads in apology to families, fans, and all those concerned who have been deeply hurt by this incident. Once again, we apologize.”
Previously on January 22, a Japanese news outlet reported that Higashide Masahiro and his wife Anna Watanabe had been living apart due to the actor’s relationship with Karata Erika. Higashide Masahiro and Karata Erika had both starred in the romance film “Asako I & II.”
Higashide Masahiro and Anna Watanabe, the daughter of actor Ken Watanabe, tied the knot in 2015 and later became parents to three children.
Karata Erika’s Japanese agency had also stated, “Karata Erika is deeply reflecting on her rash behavior. To prevent this from happening again, the agency will also guide Karata Erika to rebuild trust. We apologize.”
Masahiro Higashide’s agency commented, “Most of the information in the report is true. [This issue] was caused by Higashide’s foolishness and lack of responsibility, so regardless of whatever criticism he may face, his actions are inexcusable.”
Karata Erika has been working in both Japan and Korea as an actress. In Korea, she is affiliated with BH Entertainment, and she recently starred in the tvN drama “Arthdal Chronicles.”
