EXID's Solji Announces Decision To Part Ways With Banana Culture + Agency Responds
EXID’s Solji has decided not to renew with Banana Culture Entertainment.
On February 5, Xportsnews reported that Solji’s contract with Banana Culture Entertainment expired, leaving LE the only EXID member with the company.
Following the reports, Solji posted on her Instagram confirming that she had left the agency. Her post reads as follows:
Hello, this is EXID’s Solji.
I have left Banana Culture Entertainment after much discussion over a long period of time.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone at Banana Culture Entertainment who helped me receive such overwhelming love.Above all, I’m really grateful to LEGGO to the point I can’t even express in words!
I’ll work hard to return the love I’ve received with even greater music! Please continue to send lots of support to me as well as the EXID members in the future.
Everyone, please take care of your health, and have a warm day!
However, a source from Banana Culture Entertainment commented, “Solji’s contract has not been terminated yet. We are currently still in discussion, and her contract will not expire until June.”
Solji renewed her contract with Banana Culture Entertainment in May 2019, and she has promoted through her personal YouTube channel and sang for the OSTs of dramas such as “Love with Flaws” and “Perfume.”
Recently, EXID’s Hyelin also decided not to renew with the agency in January, and she is currently looking for a new agency. EXID’s Jeonghwa and Hani chose not to renew their contracts back in May 2019. Since then, Hani joined Sublime Artist Agency, and Jeonghwa joined J,WIDE-Company.
As EXID’s contract with their Japanese agency is still active, the group will continue to promote as a team in Japan until June.
