'Mister Trot' Makes Cable Network History By Achieving New Ratings Record

TV Chosun’s new audition program “Mister Trot” is making cable network history!

According to Nielsen Korea, the February 6 episode of the hit show—which features several idols in its contestant lineup—scored average nationwide ratings of 23.15 percent and 27.463 percent for its two parts, breaking its own record for the highest viewership ratings ever achieved by a cable network.

The massive popularity of the audition program has been affecting the ratings of the other shows airing on Thursday nights, with both KBS 2TV’s new drama “Forest” and MBC’s “The Game: Towards Zero” seeing slightly lower ratings on Thursdays compared to Wednesdays. “The Game: Towards Zero” scored average ratings of 3.2 percent and 3.8 percent for its latest episode, marking a slight decrease from the night before, when it achieved its highest ratings to date.

“Forest” scored average ratings of 5.2 percent and 5.3 percent for its two parts, while SBS’s variety show “Delicious Rendezvous” scored average ratings of 5.0 percent, 5.8 percent, and 5.8 percent for the evening.
