VIXX's Hyuk To Step Down From Musical Due To Injury

On February 15, it was announced that VIXX’s Hyuk would be stepping down from the musical “Eyes of Dawn” to focus on his recovery after an injury.

The production company of “Eyes of Dawn,” Suki Company, stated, “Early on, Han Sang Hyuk [Hyuk’s real name] sustained a minor injury during a performance and has been receiving regular treatment ever since. However, it is now the doctor’s opinion that he should focus on his treatment. In order to make a full recovery, he will be stepping down from the remaining performances.”

The company added, “The role of Dong Jin will be played by Jung Eui Jae, whom we thank for agreeing to this sudden casting change. It took some time to mediate between [Han Sang Hyuk’s] strong desire to perform and the doctor’s opinion, which was why we were unable to alert you about Han Sang Hyuk’s final performance in advance. We apologize for this and ask for everyone’s understanding. Due to the casting change, cancellations and refunds will be made available without charge at the original site of purchase.”

VIXX also released a statement on the official fan café and revealed that the injury was to the pelvis.

“Eyes of Dawn” is a musical based on the popular 1991 drama of the same name. It tells the story of two men and a woman who live through the tumultuous ten years covering the Japanese colonial period, World War II, the liberation of Korea, and the Korean War.

Hyuk was cast in the role of Kwon Dong Jin, the close friend of main character Choi Dae Chi.
