CL Explains The Influence Dance Has On Her Life
CL shared how important dancing is to her, her thoughts on life, and more!
CL features in the March issue of Nylon magazine, and she sat down for an interview where she talked about being an artist as well as her daily life. When it was expressed to her that the public is curious about what she’s up to, CL said, “I’m so grateful that people are curious. However if I’m too conscious of that and chase after it, then it gets hard for me. So I want to keep doing the things I love and show a lot of different sides of myself.”
While CL is widely known as a rapper and singer, her first steps towards her career as an idol began with her love for dance. “Dancing is the most comfortable way for me to express myself,” she said. “I used to be quiet and shy, but I learned dance as a way to express myself. I gained a lot of confidence from that. Even now, dance is very helpful for me when it comes to understanding myself.”
“I think that ultimately ‘life’ is living while communicating with people and co-existing with them,” she said. “At the same level, it’s important for me to communicate with myself. I purposely make a lot time to spend with myself. Because it’s a really necessary time.”
CL made a long-awaited return in December with her project album “In the Name of Love,” following her departure from YG Entertainment.
