Lee Shin Young And Shin Seung Ho To Lead New KBS Drama Along With Kim So Hye

Lee Shin Young and Shin Seung Ho will be joining Kim So Hye as the lead actors of the new four-episode KBS drama “How to Buy a Friend” (working title)!

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “How to Buy a Friend” will tell the story of Chan Hong and Don Hyuk, two high school students who lead entirely different lives. Ordinary high school student Chan Hong writes a poem that leads him to have a “contract friendship” with Don Hyuk, the best fighter at school.

Lee Shin Young will take on the role of main character Park Chan Hong. His height, weight, and grades are all exactly equal to Korea’s average, and he has such a weak presence that his nickname is Ninja. He ends up writing a poem due to an unexpected circumstance and faces the greatest turning point of his life.

Shin Seung Ho will play Heo Don Hyuk, who is the exact opposite of Park Chan Hong and is deemed by the other students at his school as a legendary fighter. When he transfers to Park Chan Hong’s high school, he discovers that the poem Park Chan Hong wrote contains an important secret and suggests they make a deal.

Kim So Hye, who was previously confirmed to star in the drama, will play Uhm Se Yoon, who is the most popular girl at school and is Park Chan Hong’s first love. She is at the top when it comes to grades, appearance, and popularity among boys, but she has never truly opened her heart to anyone.

The producers of “How to Buy a Friend” said, “The three actors are similar in that they were the exact embodiments of their characters during their auditions. In addition to their visuals, the acting shown by these young actors who have immersed into each of their roles will be worth looking forward to. We will showcase a drama that touches on the friendship and growth of youths through the contractual friendship between the two boys and the case they chase.”

KBS removed Monday-Tuesday dramas from its schedule after “The Tale of Nokdu,” which ended last November. After approximately four months without a Monday-Tuesday drama, KBS is bringing dramas back to the time slot with “How to Buy a Friend.” Min Dohee is also confirmed to appear in the drama as Uhm Se Yoon’s close friend.

“How to Buy a Friend” will begin airing on April 6.
