Kwon Sang Woo Joins Talks To Star In "The Pirates" Sequel
Kwon Sang Woo is the third actor in talks to join the cast of the upcoming sequel to “The Pirates.”
“The Pirates” was a hit film released in 2014 that attracted more than 8.6 million moviegoers. Plans for the sequel had originally been set in motion in 2018 with a goal of being released in 2020, but the film announced that it would be going under reorganization after lead actor Kim Nam Gil stated that he would not be returning for a second film.
Previously, Kang Ha Neul and Lee Kwang Soo were revealed to be discussing their respective participation in the film. Lee Kwang Soo’s agency, King Kong by Starship, told media outlets on March 3 that “Lee Kwang Soo is actively receiving advice on the role in ‘The Pirates’ sequel. He is still in talks regarding his participation.”
As for Kwon Sang Woo, his agency Su Company also released a statement to the media on March 3. A representative stated, “Kwon Sang Woo received the scenario for ‘The Pirates’ sequel and is actively considering the role. Right now he is only at the discussion stage.”
