Super Junior's Eunhyuk Explains How His Mother's Past Illness Inspired His Donation Towards Coronavirus Prevention

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk shared his thoughts behind his donation.

On the March 4 episode of SBS’s “Night of Real Entertainment,” Eunhyuk was interviewed as one of the stars who donated towards the prevention of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

It was reported on January 29 that Super Junior donated 10,000 masks to be given to Korean child and youth welfare facilities. About a month later on February 28, Eunhyuk separately donated 100 million won (approximately $84,300) to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association.

“My mother suffered a lot due to a lung disease last year, so I became even more worried about the coronavirus,” said Eunhyuk. “I made the decision [to donate] out of hope that more people wouldn’t suffer due to the coronavirus.”

He continued, “Seeing many stars doing good deeds made me think that if public figures donated and articles were published, good news like this might give strength and hope to those going through a hard time.”

Sending a video message to the public, Eunhyuk concluded, “To those having a difficult time due to the coronavirus and to those working hard everywhere, please take good care of your health. Hang in there.”
