Park Kyung Attends First Police Questioning After Making Chart Manipulation Accusations
Block B’s Park Kyung attended his first police questioning after he was sued for defamation by artists he accused of committing chart manipulation.
On March 10, Park Kyung’s agency Seven Seasons made the following announcement regarding the ongoing investigation.
Hello. This is Seven Seasons. We are delivering our official statement regarding the ongoing police investigation of Park Kyung’s case regarding the criminal charge/complaint on his alleged violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
On March 9, Park Kyung voluntarily went to the Seoul Seongdong Police Station and received his first questioning under the status of a suspect regarding the ongoing police investigation of the criminal charge/complaint on his alleged violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
Due to the continuous spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the investigation date was delayed, but Park Kyung plans to dutifully partake in future requests for cooperation with the ongoing investigation. Thank you.
In late November, Park Kyung restarted the conversation about suspicions of widespread sajaegi (the manipulation of sales numbers through an artist’s own agency bulk buying or streaming). He wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I want to do sajaegi like Vibe, like Song Ha Ye, like Lim Jae Hyun, like Jeon Sang Keun, like Jang Deok Cheol, and like Hwang In Wook ^^;;.”
Currently, all the artists mentioned are taking legal action against him. Park Kyung has also postponed his enlistment due to the investigation.
