Park Yoochun's Rep Says He Has No Plans To Return To Industry, Following Launch Of New Social Media Accounts
After Park Yoochun opened new social media accounts this week, a representative has clarified that he does not plan to make a return to the entertainment industry.
On March 11, someone close to Park Yoochun told the news outlet OSEN, “It’s not true that Park Yoochun is returning to the entertainment industry. He currently has no plans for that.”
They went on to say, “He’s not even thinking about returning right away. He’s still self-reflecting. For his social media accounts too, all he did was make them. There are reports wondering if he’s making a return, but I hope people won’t misunderstand.”
On March 8, Park Yoochun appeared in his brother Park Yoo Hwan’s Twitch live stream. A song that Park Yoochun had promoted in Japan played in the background while they talked.
Regarding this, the source stated, “He appeared in it because it was Park Yoo Hwan’s birthday. He didn’t appear with any particular intention.”
Earlier this week, Park Yoochun launched new Twitter and Instagram accounts. They both began with first posts that read, “Park Yoochun’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts have been opened. Yoochun’s various news and new looks will be shared through his official social media, so please show a lot of love and interest.”

Many have therefore been wondering whether Park Yoochun is planning a comeback to the industry. Last April, Park Yoochun held a press conference where he denied all allegations regarding him using illegal drugs. He stated, “I came here with a desperate heart because if I am found guilty of the suspicions, even more problematic than having to stop activities as the celebrity Park Yoochun and retiring, is the fact that my whole life will be unjust.”
After a drug test on Park Yoochun came back positive, his then agency C-JeS Entertainment terminated his exclusive contract and announced he would be retiring from the industry.
In July, he was charged with purchasing 1.5 grams of Philopon and injecting the drug on several occasions. After admitting to this violation of the Narcotics Control Act, he was given a 10-month prison sentence suspended for two years of probation, as well as a 1.4 million won (approximately $1,180) fine. This means that if he commits an offense during the probation period, he will be sentenced to prison for 10 months. Following the court’s ruling, Park Yoochun apologized to his fans while speaking with reporters.
