'Mister Trot' Makes History With New Cable TV Ratings Record As 'Hospital Playlist' Premieres To Strong Start

TV Chosun’s “Mister Trot” has made cable network history once again!

On March 12, the latest episode of the wildly popular audition program set a new record for the highest viewership ratings ever achieved by a cable network. According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast scored average nationwide ratings of 34.016 percent and 35.711 percent for its two parts, breaking the show’s previous record of 33.836 percent from last week.

Although “Mister Trot” initially planned to announce the winner of the show during its latest broadcast, the program unexpectedly delayed the announcement after being overwhelmed by the volume of text votes it received during the final competition (a whopping 7,731,781 votes).

On the same night, MBC’s “The Game: Towards Zero” scored average nationwide ratings of 2.9 percent and 3.5 percent for its series finale, while KBS 2TV’s “Forest” scored average ratings of 2.6 percent and 3.1 percent for its two parts.

Finally, tvN’s new medical drama “Hospital Playlist” premiered to an average nationwide rating of 6.325 percent for the night.
