Kim Min Kyu To Make Acting Debut As Lead Of New Webtoon Adaptation

Kim Min Kyu will soon be making his acting debut in a brand-new web drama!

On March 19, Playlist announced that the former “Produce X 101” contestant would be starring in its upcoming adaptation of the popular webtoon “Pop Out Boy!.”

A spokesperson for Playlist stated, “Kim Min Kyu has been chosen for the role of Chun Nam Wook, the male lead of ‘Pop Out Boy!.'”

“Pop Out Boy!” tells the story of the chaos and the whirlwind romance that occur when Chun Nam Wook, the male protagonist of a long-running manhwa (Korean comic), steps into the real world. There, he crosses paths with high school student Han Sun Nyeo, who happens to share the same face and name as the female protagonist of Chun Nam Wook’s manhwa.

The upcoming web drama, which will mark Kim Min Kyu’s very first acting role, is currently scheduled to begin airing in June.

Meanwhile, after rising to fame on Mnet’s “Produce X 101” last year, Kim Min Kyu is currently hosting SBS MTV’s “The Show” as one of the music program’s three MCs.
