Watch: Park Bo Gum Earns Praise For Performances On "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" + Announces Collab With Sam Kim

On the March 20 episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” Park Bo Gum appeared as a special guest of the singer Lee Seung Chul!

Park Bo Gum recently starred in the music video for an OST by Lee Seung Chul. On the show, Park Bo Gum first played piano while Lee Seung Chul sang the OST.

Host Yoo Hee Yeol complimented him on his piano playing and asked if he could play something else. Park Bo Gum then performed Lee Seung Chul’s “Western Sky” and the song “Good Person” by Toy, Yoo Hee Yeol’s one-man band. In addition, he played “Chopsticks” together with Yoo Hee Yeol, and the actor also shared that he regularly watches the show.

Lee Seung Chul, who was performing with Park Bo Gum for the first time, said, “It’s difficult to perform with a band, but he did really well.” Park Bo Gum said, “Lee Seung Chul suggested that we do this performance, and I agreed because this opportunity is an honor for me. But I was so nervous that I didn’t sleep well last night.”

On the topic of appearing in the music video, Park Bo Gum said, “I’ve always liked and respected Lee Seung Chul, and I’ve never been in a music video since my debut. I agreed to star in it because I thought of it as an honor.”

He also said, “I’m a bit shy about saying it, but my dream when I was young was to be a singer-songwriter. My skills were lacking so the staff at my agency said, ‘What do you think about being an actor instead?'”

Nevertheless, Park Bo Gum studies in the New Media Music department at his university and released a Christmas song last year, showing he hasn’t given up on his dreams of being a singer.

Two years ago, Park Bo Gum released a remake of Jukjae’s “Let’s Go See the Stars,” and he sang a bit of it on the program. Lee Seung Chul, “I like your pure voice. When I’m doing auditions, I pick people who sound like this.”

Park Bo Gum then surprised by saying, “I’m planning a project with Antenna Music’s Sam Kim.”
