Reps Respond After EXO's D.O. And FTISLAND's Lee Hong Ki Reportedly Cast In Military Musical

A representative has responded to reports that EXO’s D.O. and FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki have been cast in the military musical “Return” (literal title).

On March 31, OSEN reported, “As ‘Return’ wraps up its preparation stages, EXO’s D.O. and Lee Hong Ki have been shortlisted for the cast.” Both stars are currently completing their mandatory military service, with D.O having enlisted on July 1, 2019 and Lee Hong Ki on September 30, 2019.

In response, a promotional representative of “Return” shared with DongA Ilbo, “Nothing has been confirmed regarding casting. We currently still need to discuss whether the musical should be held and the timing of it. It will be decided through internal meetings.”

“Return” is an original military musical about the Korean War and is produced by Insight Entertainment. Previous stars who have appeared in this musical include SHINee‘s Onew, EXO’s Xiumin, Lee Jae Kyoon, VIXX‘s N, Kim Min Suk, INFINITE’s Sungyeol and Sunggyu, and Yoon Ji Sung.

After opening in October 2019, the popular show completed a nationwide tour. Although performances continued into this year, more recent shows were cancelled due to COVID-19.
