Super Junior's Choi Siwon, EXID's Hani, Lee Yeon Hee, Lee Dong Hwi, And More Confirmed For MBC's Sci-Fi Crossover Project "SF8"
The cast of “SF8” has been confirmed!
On April 1, MBC revealed a star-studded lineup of actors that have signed on for the film/drama crossover project.
Set in the near future, “SF8” tells the story of people who dream of a perfect society through technological advancements. This project is a Korean original sci-fi anthology series about an array of subjects including artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), robots, gaming, fantasy, horror, superpowers, and disasters.
The eight Directors Guild of Korea (DGK) directors participating in this project include Kim Eui Deok, Roh Deok, Min Kyu Dong, Ahn Gooc Jin, Oh Ki Hwan, Lee Yoon Jung, Jang Cheol Soo, and Han Ka Ram. Each director will present a 40-minute project for “SF8.”
Moon So Ri has been cast in director Kim Eui Seok’s project “Human Proof” (literal title), while Lee Yeon Hee and Lee Dong Hwi will appear in director Roh Deok’s “Whole Body” (literal title).
Lee Yoo Young, Ye Soo Jung, Yeom Hye Ran, and Yoon Kyung Ho will tell the story of a world run by robots in director Min Kyu Dong’s “Nursing” (literal title). David Lee will star in a unique fantasy melodrama about a couple during the end of the world in director Ahn Gooc Jin’s “You Can’t Fall In Love After A Week” (literal title).
Kim Bo Ra and Choi Sung Eun will appear in director Lee Yoon Jung’s queer youth story “Astronaut Joan” (literal title), which takes place during a fine dust disaster. Uee and Super Junior’s Choi Siwon will star in director Oh Ki Hwan’s romantic comedy “Augmented Infatuation” (literal title), which takes place in a world where virtual reality is commonplace.
EXID’s Hani has been cast in director Jang Cheol Soo’s “White Crow” (literal title), and Lee Si Young will appear in director Han Ka Ram’s fierce female action film “Blink.”
“SF8” will start filming and premiere the director’s cut in July via wavve before airing two original series at a time for four weeks in August.
