Update: Kim Min Kyu And DreamCatcher Test Negative For COVID-19 After "The Show" Appearances

Kim Min Kyu and DreamCatcher have tested negative for COVID-19.

Kim Min Kyu is an MC on SBS’s “The Show” along with EVERGLOW’s Sihyeon and The Boyz’s Juyeon. After a staff member of EVERGLOW tested positive for the COVID-19, Kim Min Kyu and Juyeon received COVID-19 tests. Cre.Ker Entertainment confirmed earlier that Juyeon had tested negative, and Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed this day that Kim Min Kyu tested negative as well. A source from the agency stated, “Kim Min Kyu underwent a test for COVID-19 recently. We received the results this morning, and he tested negative. Though he tested negative, he is currently in self-quarantine to be safe.”

DreamCatcher appeared on the same “The Show” episode as EVERGLOW and underwent a COVID-19 test to confirm that none of the members or staff had contracted the virus.

DreamCatcher Company stated, “After it was revealed that a staff member of EVERGLOW had tested positive for COVID-19, the members of DreamCatcher and the staff members who were at the site for ‘The Show’ all received COVID-19 tests. All members and staff tested negative. The DreamCatcher members finished promoting their first full album and have returned to their homes to rest. Moreover, we inform you that they utilized staff vehicles only for transportation and that we made sure they do not come into contact with anyone else to avoid any possibility of spreading [the virus].”

Kisum’s agency released an official statement reassuring fans that the artist and her staff had all tested negative for COVID-19. Kisum had shared the same backstage waiting room as EVERGLOW for “The Show.”

Hello, this is FirstOne Entertainment.

Kisum, who has been actively promoting her new song “Primero,” was informed by a broadcasting personnel on April 3 that a staff member for EVERGLOW, who Kisum appeared on ‘The Show’ with two weeks earlier, had tested positive for COVID-19.

Because Kisum had been assigned the same waiting room as EVERGLOW at the time of their appearance on the show, we had Kisum and all of her staff undergo tests for COVID-19 as soon as we heard the news to ascertain that [no one had contracted the virus]. The next day, on April 4, the results for everyone came out as negative.

Though she received negative results, in accordance with the guidelines of the government and related institutes, Kisum has cancelled all of her scheduled activities and has entered self-quarantine that will last for two weeks.

FirstOne Entertainment recognizes the severity of the COVID-19 situation, and we will continue to take the best measures possible and cooperate actively. Please show lots of interest and support for Kisum, who will resume promoting after taking a short break.

Kisum also personally took to her Instagram to tell fans that she’s healthy. She shared a screenshot of the agency’s official statement and wrote in the caption, “P.S. Everyone, don’t worry too much! I’m healthy. I’ll be back after safely self-quarantining!!! All of you should always wear a mask, wash your hands, and use a hand sanitizer when you arrive home. Let’s overcome this together!”

The Boyz’s Juyeon has tested negative for COVID-19.

On April 4, Cre.Ker Entertainment announced the results of Juyeon’s test on The Boyz’s social media accounts. They stated, “We wish to inform fans that The Boyz’s Juyeon visited a designated testing center on April 3 and was tested for COVID-19 as a precautionary measure, and his results have come back today as negative.”

They continued, “We hope that The B [The Boyz’s official fan club name] will continue to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 such as washing your hands and wearing masks.”

The Boyz’s Juyeon and Kim Min Kyu underwent testing for COVID-19 as a part of precautionary measures taken by “The Show,” and Kim Min Kyu is still waiting for his results.

Following the news that an EVERGLOW staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore “The Show” staff members are being tested too, it has been shared that Sihyeon’s fellow “The Show” MCs Kim Min Kyu and The Boyz’s Juyeon are also awaiting testing results.

On April 3, a source from Juyeon’s agency Cre.ker Entertainment stated, “Juyeon was tested for COVID-19 yesterday (April 2) and is in quarantine. The test results will come out on April 4.” They added, “He wasn’t in direct contact with someone is confirmed to have it so he wasn’t initially considered for testing, but we took this step to be certain as a precautionary measure for the sake of safety.”

A source from Kim Min Kyu’s agency Jellyfish Entertainment told Herald Pop, “He received a COVID-19 test, and the results will come out on April 6.”

The report from Herald Pop states that the EVERGLOW staff member with COVID-19 attended the filming for “The Show” on March 24, prior to receiving the positive test result on April 1.

SBS MTV’s “The Show” has announced that production will be temporarily halted for precautionary measures.

On April 3, a source from “The Show” confirmed that they will not be airing on April 7, with a final decision not being made yet for the April 14 episode. They explained that the cancellation was decided on after a staff member of EVERGLOW tested positive for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), considering the fact that member Sihyeon is currently active as an MC for the music show.

They stated, “All of the staff members have begun a two-week self-quarantine period from today. All staff members are being tested, and some have already gotten their results back, all of which were negative. The rest are currently waiting for their test results to come back.” The building where “The Show” is filmed has also been closed and is undergoing disinfection.

Earlier in the day, Yuehua Entertainment released an official statement that a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19. The agency explained that all the members had also undergone testing, and received negative results. The girl group will be going through two weeks of quarantine as a precautionary measure.
