SHINee Excites With Countdown To "2020 SHINee's Back"

Shawols have a big reason to get excited as SHINee has started a countdown to their return!

On April 11, the group surprised with a revamped website that now counts down to Onew, Key, and Minho each finishing their mandatory military service.

The website link was shared on social media with the text “[2020 SHINee’S BACK!] The countdown to shining SHINee’s D-DAY has started.”

Onew’s countdown is now at D-100, Key’s at D-179, and Minho’s at D-218. The hashtags include “Shining SHINee,” “The DAY Shawols are waiting for,” and “2020 SHINee is back.” Many fans are wondering if this new countdown is a hint that the group is planning a comeback within 2020 once the three members return from the military.

While the members have also been busy as soloists since then, SHINee’s most recent group release was their 10th anniversary project “The Story of Light,” an album with 16 songs that was released in parts throughout 2018. The project included music videos for their songs “Good Evening,” “I Want You,” “Our Page,” and “Countless.”

Onew enlisted on December 10, 2018; Key enlisted on March 4, 2019 and is serving as a member of the military band; and Minho enlisted in the Marine Corps on April 15, 2019.
