Ryu Jun Yeol Encourages Others To Follow His Lead By Taking Steps To Save The Environment
Ryu Jun Yeol is encouraging others to follow in his footsteps and reduce their plastic waste.
The actor has recently been sharing posts on his Instagram about the shocking amount of unnecessary plastic packaging used on groceries. He posted photos of fruit, vegetables, meat, and more all wrapped in plastic, and he wrote, “You’re not what I was buying but #plastic.”
He also showed the way his fruit came packaged in unneeded plastic and wrote, “Did I order plastic and the fruit came along with it… #plastic.”
He shared photos of grocery stores abroad that offer unpacked foods so people can bring their own reusable containers or bags. He wrote, “People are being courageous like this at markets overseas! We should #HaveCourage too.”
Most recently, Ryu Jun Yeol posted a photo showing that he’d bought fish at a market by putting it his own reusable container, rather than having it packaged in plastic as usual. “I went to the market and got up the courage to do this,” he wrote, and added as the hashtag, #HaveCourage.
Ryu Jun Yeol has also linked in his Instagram bio to a petition from Greenpeace calling for the reduction of plastic waste at supermarkets. The actor previously made a large donation to the organization’s “End Plastic Pollution” campaign and it appears he’s teamed up with Greenpeace to spread awareness.
