Bae Doona In Talks To Join New Sci-Fi Drama Produced By Jung Woo Sung

We may be seeing Bae Doona in a new drama soon!

On April 13, it was reported that Bae Doona would be appearing in the upcoming Netflix original “The Sea of Silence” (literal translation). In response, a source from her agency SBD Entertainment stated, “It is true that Bae Doona has received an offer for the series, and is currently positively looking over the offer.”

“The Sea of Silence” will be a sci-fi thriller that is set in the future, where desertification has left the earth with food and water shortages. A special team is tasked with retrieving mysterious samples from an abandoned research base on the moon.

The upcoming series will be based on a short film of the same name by director Choi Hang Yong, who was highlighted at the 13th Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival in 2014. He will be directing the new Netflix original series, Jung Woo Sung will participate in producing it, and “Mother” screenwriter Park Eun Kyo will be in charge of the script.
