BoA, Dynamic Duo, Sung Si Kyung, And Kim Jong Kook Join 'The Voice Of Korea 2020' As Coaches

Talented artists will be joining the upcoming season of “The Voice of Korea 2020”!

On April 27, Mnet introduced its lineup of coaches consisting of Kim Jong Kook, BoA, Sung Si Kyung, and Dynamic Duo. A staff member said, “Four teams of vocalists and producers who have made a name for themselves in different areas have joined the coaching staff. We look forward to seeing vocalists of various styles and skills.”

Kim Jong Kook stated, “I feel excited because it’s an opportunity to meet many talented people. I’ve already become a singer who has promoted for 26 years. After promoting for a while, I’ve learned that it’s important to make your own music but also to become a vocalist that the public looks for and listens to. I’ll represent the public’s ears and work hard so that [the contestants’] voices can be loved by many people.”

BoA said, “I’m happy that I could join as a coach on a global music program on my 20th debut anniversary. I’ll work hard to find diamonds in the rough with hidden capabilities and work hard to help them refine their talent so they can grow into vocalists who will lead the music industry.”

Sung Si Kyung commented, “I want to meet a new, emotion-filled voice with delicate senses through ‘The Voice of Korea 2020.’ More than anything, I’m trying to open my ears and focusing on their sensitivity and emotions. After meeting vocalists with deep emotions who can move the public with their voice, I will support them so that they can musically express themselves in more maturely.”

Dynamic Duo became the first group to be appointed as coaches on “Voice Korea.” They said, “We want to discover rare vocalists with individuality, who not only have vocal skills but also their own identity, and help them grow.”

“The Voice of Korea” is the Korean remake of the Netherlands’ “The Voice,” after Mnet purchased the rights to the program. Korea’s top musicians transform into coaches who choose their teammates based on the contestants’ voices alone and help them develop into top vocalists.

“The Voice of Korea 2020” premieres on May 29 at 7:30 p.m. KST.
