Update: PD Yoo Ho Jin Shares How He Cast Cha Tae Hyun For Their New Variety Show Together

In a phone interview with Xportsnews, producing director (PD) Yoo Ho Jin explained why he picked Cha Tae Hyun to be on his new variety show.
Yoo Ho Jin said, “I want to create an entertaining program. I want it to be an authentic variety show. While I was preparing for the new show, Cha Tae Hyun was the first person I thought of. I contacted him, and I’m sure he had a lot of concerns, but he readily agreed to appear.”
He continued, “I’m happy that he agreed, but I also feel pressured. He’s someone who has always had faith in me, so I feel like I have to repay that trust.”
Cha Tae Hyun has previously worked with Yoo Ho Jin on variety shows like “2 Days & 1 Night” and “Where on Earth??,” as well as the drama “The Best Hit.” The new variety show, “Hometown Flex” features guests going back to their hometown in order to have the cast members experience life in that town.

Cha Tae Hyun will be joining a new variety show!
On May 6, an entertainment industry source reported, “Producing director (PD) Yoo Ho Jin is preparing for a new tvN variety program titled ‘Hometown Flex.’ Cha Tae Hyun will be the MC.”
In response to the report, a representative from tvN confirmed, “The new tvN variety program ‘Hometown Flex’ directed by PD Yoo Ho Jin will feature guests going back to their hometown to have the members experience life in that town. Cha Tae Hyun will be starring in the program, and the show will greet viewers with its premiere this summer.”
Previously, PD Yoo Ho Jin directed the third season of KBS’s “2 Days & 1 Night.” Last year, he planned and directed tvN’s “Wednesday Music Playlist.” Furthermore, in addition to working with Cha Tae Hyun on “2 Days & 1 Night,” he also co-directed “The Best Hit” with the actor, making viewers highly anticipate their upcoming collaboration.
