IU's "eight" (Feat. And Prod. By Suga) Rises To No. 1; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2020, May Week 5
IU’s “eight” moves up a spot to take over as our new No. 1 song this week! Produced by and featuring BTS’ Suga, “eight” has taken home three music show wins. IU also becomes the first artist to have two No. 1 songs on our chart this year, as “Blueming” also topped our chart at the beginning of 2020. Congratulations to IU!
Oh My Girl’s “Nonstop,” which reigned for three consecutive weeks, fell one spot to No. 2. Moving back up one spot to No. 3 is BTS’s “ON.”
Two songs newly entered the top 10 this week. Debuting at No. 4 is NCT 127’s “Punch,” the title track from NCT 127’s repackaged album “Neo Zone : The Final Round.” “Punch” is an urban soul hip hop song that expresses the dynamic beat in the ear of a boxer who climbs the ring, and the lyrics contain a message of overcoming the lonely moment of fighting alone.
Moving up three spots to No. 8 is “Introduce me a good person,” which Red Velvet’s Joy sang for the OST of the tvN drama “Hospital Playlist.” Having been on the chart for nine weeks, the song finally moves into the top 10 this week. It is a remake of a hit song from Basis in 1996.
