TWICE Talks About Reactions To "MORE & MORE" And Process Of Learning Intense Choreography
TWICE appeared on SBS Power FM’s “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” to talk about their latest comeback.
On June 1, TWICE released their ninth mini album “MORE & MORE” and title track of the same name. The song gained a lot of attention soon after its released and topped various realtime music streaming charts such as Melon, Bugs, and Vibe. Jeongyeon responded by saying, “We didn’t expect it at all. We were really worried,” and Chaeyoung added, “We were worried because it was our first comeback in a long time. This song has a new vibe to it. We were really curious to know if people would like it.”
The music video for “MORE & MORE” was able to reach 16 million views in just 15 hours after its release, hitting that milestone nine hours earlier than their last music video for “Feel Special.” Nayeon said, “We didn’t get to attend the company viewing event for the music video but we heard that we got good reactions. We have a different perspective from fans when looking at a music video because we’ll tend to look at what we got wrong and how things were edited.”
Jeongyeon added, “We watch the music video a lot before it comes out, about five or six times. But once it’s out, we don’t watch it,” and Jihyo said, “We keep listening to the song. But for the music video, we end up approaching it in terms of work. So we end up not watching it.”
The members all came together to say that the choreography, which was created by renowned choreography Kiel Tutin and Lee Jung, is the most difficult one they’ve had so far. Momo said, “Even doing the dance just once makes you feel like you’ve lost weight. A lot of people are saying it would be too difficult for a dance challenge but I’d like to try it.”
Jeongyeon and Jihyo said they find it the hardest to pick up choreography but Momo said, “Our choreography continues to get more difficult. But I think we’re all improving as time goes by.” Nayeon added, “At first, we weren’t very good. But it’s the results that matter, right? It matters how it looks once we’re on stage.”
