On June 10, a source from Woollim Entertainment told Newsen, “Today, we filed a criminal complaint against the person who disseminated the rumor of school violence about Cha Jun Ho, for suspicions of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation).”

Woollim Entertainment has released an official statement on the rumors about former X1 member Cha Jun Ho.

On June 9, an online forum post alleging that Cha Jun Ho had been a perpetrator of school violence began to garner attention. The forum post was in the form of screenshots of social media posts from someone who alleged that Cha Jun Ho had bullied them in elementary school. The poster claimed that Cha Jun Ho had made their school life difficult by swearing at and making personal insults against other students, including themselves. As evidence, the poster shared a photo of their graduation album and texts that they had exchanged with the people around them.

In response, Cha Jun Ho’s agency issued the following statement:

Hello, this is Woollim Entertainment.

First, we would like to thank the fans who have loved and supported our trainee, Cha Jun Ho.

We have discovered that there is a case of false information spreading about our trainee online. The agency has confirmed that there are posts with malicious and unconfirmed content spreading on various social media platforms and online communities. We immediately checked the truth of these reports, and confirmed that the content is absolutely false.

Following this, the agency will be taking strong legal action about this case in order to protect our artist, whose image is being tarnished by the rumors currently spreading on social media, online forums, and online media outlets.

In the future, we will do our best as an agency to protect our artists and trainees by taking strong legal action without leniency against false rumors and malicious slander.
