NCT DREAM Receives Their 1st Double Platinum Certification From Gaon; GOT7, IU, EXO's Suho, + More Go Platinum
Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official platinum certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while songs receive a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.
On June 11, Gaon Chart announced that NCT DREAM’s latest mini album “Reload” had received an official double platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies since its release on April 29. Although the group previously went platinum with their 2019 mini album “We Boom,” “Reload” is their first release to be certified double platinum.
Meanwhile, both GOT7’s recent mini album “DYE” and EXO’s Suho’s solo debut mini album “Self-Portrait” were officially certified platinum after selling over 250,000 copies each.
In the streaming category, Paul Kim’s “Every Day, Every Moment” became the first song ever to receive a Gaon triple platinum certification after surpassing 300 million streams. Paul Kim also received a double platinum certification for his hit song “Me After You,” which broke 200 million streams last month.
Finally, IU’s “Blueming,” Changmo’s “METEOR,” Gummy’s “Remember Me” (from the OST of tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna“), Noel’s “Late Night,” BOL4’s “Bom,” MC the Max’s “One Day Only,” and Lauv’s “Paris in the Rain” all received platinum certifications after surpassing 100 million streams each.
Congratulations to all of the artists on their impressive achievements!
